Frequently asked questions

Eva is an event hub for announcements, RSVP, live program, volunteering, and follower management—on the web and on mobile. This page covers signing in, organizing, following events, and privacy. For legal details, see our policies linked below.

What is Eva?
Eva is an event hub for real-time announcements, RSVP, live program, volunteer teams, and follower management. Organizers run the fullest experience from Home on the web; followers can use the web or native iOS and Android apps—ideal for conferences, weddings, school events, and community gatherings.
Who is Eva for?
Eva serves event owners and co-managers (create events, delegate roles, RSVP, program, announcements) and followers or guests (join by link, QR, or code; subscribe to updates; RSVP when asked). Volunteers and managers invited by email use the same Eva account on web or mobile.
Do I need an account?
Yes, for following or organizing. Sign up on the web to open Home, or create an account in the mobile app. Organizers should use the website for the complete toolkit; guests can choose web or mobile.
Should I use the website or the mobile app?
Organizers and co-managers should use Home on the web for the fullest feature set—guided event setup, RSVP exports and attendee email invites, manager and volunteer email invites, private follower approvals, live program editing, sub-events, volunteering, and website embeds. Followers can use either; mobile is best for push notifications when you are at the venue.
Is Eva free?
Yes. Eva is currently in beta and free to use. In the future, event creators may be able to subscribe to paid plans for advanced features and larger events.
How do I join or follow an event?
Open the organizer’s invite link or QR code on the web or in the Eva app, or enter the short event code from Home. Public events let you follow right away after you confirm. Private events may ask you to request access—the organizer approves or declines on the web before you see updates.
How do I create an event?
Sign in on Home on the web and choose Create. A guided setup walkthrough helps you add essentials, cover image, venue or virtual link, and optional features before you publish. You can save drafts, see a readiness checklist, and share a QR code or invite link when you are ready. Basic creation is also available in the mobile apps.
How do private events work?
Mark an event private when only invited people should follow. Guests who open your link can request to follow; you review pending requests from the event page on the web and approve or decline before they receive announcements. You can also turn on auto-approve for all followers if you prefer an open door after they find the link.
How do co-managers and permissions work?
As the event owner, open your event on the web and add up to ten co-managers from your follower list or by email. Promote someone who already follows immediately; email invites take effect when they sign up or log in with that address. Set granular permissions—edit event, announcements, program, followers, and more—so each manager sees only what they need.
What can Eva do for RSVPs?
Turn on RSVP when you need a headcount. Followers choose Going, Maybe, or Can’t attend and can add party guests who do not have Eva accounts. Set deadlines with timezone, maintain an organizer attendee list (import CSV, send email invites), optionally restrict RSVP to that list, and export rosters to Excel or CSV from the web.
What are program, sub-events, and volunteering?
Program & Resources is your live run-of-show—sessions with times, speakers, and a full-screen agenda view for lobby displays. Sub-events let multi-track conferences target announcements to one track or room. Volunteering adds teams with slot limits, email invites, subtasks, and team-only announcement feeds. Followers see program and crew updates on web and mobile; most organizer editing is on the web.
What kinds of announcements can I post?
Organizers and authorized managers can publish text updates with an optional title, plus image, audio, or video attachments. Save drafts until the wording is right, edit or delete after publishing, and target the whole event, a sub-event, or a volunteer team. Followers see posts in the event feed and on Home; mobile users can get push notifications when enabled.
Can I embed Eva on my website?
Yes. When embed integrations are enabled for your account, open Integrations on the web to copy iframe code for widgets such as announcements, RSVP, live agenda, volunteering, sub-events, and program resources. Visitors read updates on your site; posting and management stay in Eva Home.
What is Event Assistant?
Event Assistant on the web helps organizers draft event descriptions, announcement copy, and logistics reminders in natural language. Suggestions are starting points—always review and edit before you publish or share with attendees.
How do I explore public events?
From Home on the web, open Explore to browse public events you are not following yet. Follow any event you want to join; updates then appear in your Home feed alongside events you already follow.
